Oregon State Capitol. It is located in the state capital, Salem. The current building, constructed from 1936 to 1938, and expanded in 1977, is the third to house the Oregon state government in Salem. Two former capitol buildings were destroyed by fire, one in 1855 and the other in 1935.

The flag of Oregon is the only state flag with different pictures on each side. On the reverse appears a beaver the state animal. Both sides have a field of navy blue with design in gold. The front picture includes a heart shaped shield with an eagle on top,surronded by thirty-three stars.

The Oregon State Capitol Safety & Wellness Committee invites you to our blood drive Sept. 27 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Bloodworks NW Bloodmobile will be parked in front of the Capitol off of Court Street. Walk-ins are also welcome.
